A statement posted Friday on the UPS website said that at approximately 12 p.m. Eastern Standard time, or 8 p.m. local time, UPS flight number 6 from Dubai and headed to Cologne, Germany—a Boeing Co. 747-400—crashed after takeoff. The United Arab Emirates’ official state media reported late Friday that the bodies of two pilots had been recovered.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately clear, but it appeared to have been preceded by a fire on board. The plane took off around 7 p.m. local time, and, according to a person familiar with the situation in the U.A.E., the crew reported trouble shortly after becoming airborne and alerted air-traffic controllers, who eventually diverted the plane to a government-owned landing facility in the desert.

According to one set of early data gathered by air-safety officials, the pilots may have tried but failed to land twice during the hour prior to the crash. Sometime during the reported sequence of two “missed approaches” to the airport, according to this information, the cockpit crew declared a mayday, possibly due to smoke in the cockpit.

New Zealand was hit by a catastrophic earthquake, measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale. There were no reports of any causality so far. The quake occurred at about 4:35 local time and was centered just 30 kilometers from the largest city of the south island, Christchurch. The quake had a depth of 33 km, according to reports that were issued by the New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences. The quake was felt in several places throughout the island to the south, and was also felt in Wellington.

Reports from the city said that the temblor was strong enough, and many shaken awake. There have been reports of falling objects outside the inner walls of the houses, but so far there have been reports of serious damage, but there have been reports of minor damage. The quake was followed by a series of aftershocks significantly lower. Many residents left their homes after the earthquake and chose to stay outdoors, rather than go in and risk injury.

Holiday’s Floyd Mayweather Jr. ‘public eye was closed the same week Manny Pacquiao has launched its cross-country publicity tour to promote its Nov. 13 meeting in Texas against Antonio Margarito.

In a four-minute video posted on Ustream as Huffington Post and other Web sites, Mayweather that Pacquiao could be the opponent on Nov. 13 but did not want, has launched an expletive-filled, racial rant blasting Pacquiao.

Mayweather Pacquiao height scolded, calling him a “dwarf”, criticized the Filipino fighter, predicting that when it does finally Pacquiao fight – something he screamed at the world of boxing – the meeting will be a “cakewalk.”

Most graphically, Mayweather took shots at Pacquiao racial and says he’ll leave it as a defeated enemy to “make me a sushi roll.”

Mayweather has also continued his criticism that Pacquiao is not an expert in business, with Mayweather announces: “I have worn Reebok for three weeks for $ 1 million,” said Pacquiao is closed and in a longer deal with Nike for “Seven G”.

After all, how humiliating is to be played for a fool in front of an audience of millions? But, it turns out, that’s not the humiliating part. What really mortifies her is finding out via the anonymous note, even though she had begged everyone in the house to tell her if they saw Ronnie pawing at other girls.

At one point tonight, she tells her housemates, “Whoever wrote me the note, thank you, I appreciate it because I look like a (bleeping) idiot.” Psst, Sammi: You don’t look like an idiot because you found out Ronnie’s a jerk; you look like an idiot because you should have known Ronnie’s a jerk.

Her statements of balancing the state budget, gearing up the law enforcement process, and passing SB1070 were all correct. in 600 days her legislature has done much to improve the state’s operation, but she also pointed out that her Democratic opponent, Terry Goddard supported the unions which were presently boycotting the state. She was obviously upset with the boycotting of her state by such entities as Los Angeles, Boulder, Colorado, and local unions among many others, who are pressuring Arizona to change what the majority of the state’s citizens support.

Elizabeth Olsen Set to Star in Indie Flick

According to Reuters, Elizabeth Olsen (also known as Lizzie Olsen) has just finished shooting “Peace, Love and Misunderstanding,” where she plays Jane Fonda’s character’s granddaughter, Zoe. During filming, Fonda noted on her blog that “when her face is seen on the screen in this movie it’ll be hard for her not to do more films.”

Turns out Fonda is right, as Olsen is set to star in the indie film “Martha Marcy May Marlene.” This Sundance-developed film follows Martha as she escapes a cult and moves in with her older sister.
